Mina Pharmacy accomplishes its goals by providing personalized, hands-on customer service, through progressive cutting-edge automated pharmacy services that help patients and facilities maintain the best care at affordable prices.

Company History

Two friends and fellow pharmacists, who both worked for more than a decade at drug chains in Hawaii, set out to build their own pharmacy – unlike any other – focused on two simple principles: personalized service and faster prescriptions.

In 1997, Adel Etinas, RpH, Certified Asthma Educator and Hany Guirguis, RpH, Certified Clinical Nutritionist, PhD, opened the first Mina Pharmacy in the Ala Moana Building that quickly grew to two more locations in Salt Lake and Kapolei. From day one, the pharmacies were distinguished by their intimate spaces and friendly staff.

Adel and Hany’s mission as both pharmacists and business owners was to closely interact with patients to understand their unique pharmacy needs and health conditions. While at the same time, they recognized that other patients with demanding schedules wanted their prescriptions filled quicker than the traditional retail-focused pharmacies. Typically, patients can drop off and receive their prescriptions within 15 minutes.

Adel and Hany, with a combined 60 years of pharmacy experience, are constantly in search of cutting-edge automated pharmacy services and the newest products in order to provide the best possible care at affordable prices.

Mina Pharmacy goes beyond fulfilling prescriptions. The company provides risk screenings for diabetes and osteoporosis, vaccinations and immunizations, blister packaging, online refills, PCCA certified drug compounding (on the Big Island) and medication therapy management (MTM) where pharmacists work in collaboration with other health professionals to care for patients. There is even complimentary mail service.

Today, Mina Pharmacy is a growing, local-owned pharmacy chain on Oahu the Big Island and soon Maui. The experienced team is dedicated to servicing individual patients and our island’s Long-Term Care community.
